At just 13 years old, Katya, blessed with the vibrant spirit of youth and an unbreakable will, faced a challenge that would change her life forever. Diagnosed with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, her journey took a turn towards an unexpected battlefield - the fight for her mobility. In 2019, through the skilled hands of surgeons at Shriner's Hospital, Katya found hope as surgery saved her leg, transforming despair into gratitude.

Katya spent almost six months in a wheelchair and had to wear a brace before having a second surgery the same year to remove the screws that had been inserted into her hip socket.

Today, Katya seeks to give back to the place that offered her a second chance at walking. With her heart set on aiding Shriner's Hospital in Spokane, she invites you to be part of something greater than ourselves - a 5.1K Sing/Dance Run. This isn't just a race; it's a testament to human resilience, a celebration of overcoming, and an act of profound thankfulness.

For a symbolic entry fee of $5.10, you join not just a race, but a community united for a cause. Your participation secures you a digital bib, marking you as a champion for children in need. Moreover, you're given the chance to leave a bigger impact through an optional tip, with all proceeds (minus necessary Shopify fees) directly benefiting Shriner's Hospital in Spokane.
